More information Opening hoursNestled in the heart of Gufidaun, between the church and Summersberg Castle, the Turmwirt occupies a former court clerk’s house dating back to the 17th century. Now managed by the Gasser family, the Turmwirt has become a beloved meeting spot known for its authentic South Tyrolean hospitality. Whether you’re looking for a peaceful place to gather with close friends or enjoy a family outing, the Turmwirt offers a variety of cosy settings. Guests can relax in the charming garden, the wood-panelled “Herrenstube” dining room or the “Mundschenkstube” with its traditional tiled stove. The menu is intentionally small, focusing on specialities from the Eisacktal region alongside the restaurant’s own creative dishes. Many ingredients come directly from the family’s garden or the neighbouring farm. The classic offerings include sour beef, tortelli and the famous poppy seed cake.
The host family
The Turmwirt has been lovingly run by the Gasser family for five generations. Today, Maria Gasser, along with her father Ferdinand and husband Klaus, who is also the chef, ensure that guests feel welcome and that the essence of the Turmwirt remains alive and thriving.
