More information Opening hoursThe “Vogelmeierhof” farmhouse, as the Patauner is popularly known, was built in 1664 in the heart of Siebeneich and is now a listed building. For over 100 years, the Patauner family has preserved the character of the place. During that time, the restaurant has become a gathering place for locals and visitors alike – indeed, for all who share a love of hearty South Tyrolean cuisine. In spring, asparagus lovers flock here, while dishes featuring local game, offal and creative takes on heirloom vegetables are also quite popular. During summer, the attractive outdoor seating area offers a refreshing break from city life, and in winter, guests can warm up in the wood-panelled dining room. The menu features specialities like venison from Glaning and the famous Bozen stockfish hash.
The host family
Now in its third and fourth generation, the Patauner family continues to run their restaurant with zeal. Heinz and his son Florian work their magic in the kitchen, while Vroni and Magdalena ensure guests feel welcome at the table. Florian, the junior manager, also serves as the chairman of the Südtiroler Gasthaus Group.
