More information Opening hoursFirst documented in 1511, the Zum Turm – also known as the “Turmwirt” – once served as the seat of the provincial court. Today, it stands as one of Kastelruth’s oldest inns. Managed by the Sader family since 1996, it is a beloved meeting place for locals and plays a key role in preserving village culture while offering a cosy spot for a meal. The Turmwirt’s home-style cooking and culinary specialities have won multiple awards. Whether dining in the modern dining room or in the charming “Stübele” with its tiled stove, original bar and oil paintings, guests will enjoy an inviting atmosphere. The menu features beef, grains and farm-fresh products from the Schlern region, as well as game and trout from the Passeiertal valley. Vegan options are also available.
The host family

A Sunday roast in a Südtiroler Gasthaus
The Sunday roast is a cherished family tradition that is often the highlight of the week. And the Südtiroler Gasthaus Group makes a point of celebrating this culinary tradition every year. From January to March, every Sunday features comforting dishes prepared according to old family recipes. And just like in the past, when the Sunday roast and the after-church stew were weekly fixtures, only local, seasonal ingredients find their way onto your plate.
