The Post Hotel and Restaurant is situated in Maria Trens, a renowned pilgrimage site in the Eisacktal valley, and has been proudly run by the women of the Salzburger family for generations. Pilgrims have been stopping here since the Middle Ages, and in the 1960s, it became a popular spot for couples to tie the knot. The name “Post” is no accident: in the 19th century, the inn also served as a post office. What was once a place to change horses is now a spacious dining room. Today, the Post is known for its welcoming, relaxed atmosphere with an emphasis on simplicity and authenticity, and this philosophy extends to the kitchen. Whether it’s traditional dishes from the Eisacktal valley, classic South Tyrolean and Mediterranean cuisine or creative new takes, the focus is always on fresh, homemade meals made with quality ingredients.
