Away from the hustle and bustle, the Waldbichl Hotel and Restaurant offers a tranquil retreat with stunning panoramic views of the Tschögglberg mountain. Guests are warmly welcomed into this cosy, inviting inn, which focuses on exceptional cuisine crafted from fresh, local ingredients. Much of the produce comes directly from the Laner family’s own garden, and the meat is raised on their farm. The emphasis is on wholesome, high-quality food made with natural, regional products. Here, some classic South Tyrolean dishes are served in their traditional form, while others are reimagined with a creative twist. From “Kaiserschmarrn” torn pancakes and fresh trout to hearty buckwheat dishes, gnocchi and Wiener schnitzel in a sourdough breading, every dish is honest, down-to-earth and prepared to the highest standards.

“Knottnkino” rock cinema

From the Vöran cable car mountain station, walk through the village to the Zum Grünen Baum car park. From there, follow trail no. 14 along the gently ascending “Schützenbrünnlweg” trail to the base of the Rotsteinkogel mountain. Here, you’ll find the “Knottnkino” rock cinema, where sturdy steel and chestnut wood armchairs offer spectacular views of the Etschtal valley, the Texel Group, the Penegal and the Weisshorn. Retrace your steps for the return journey.

Family meditation path

The family meditation path starts at the car park of the Zum Grünen Baum in Vöran, following marker no. 16. The route then continues along trail no. 1 and the “Hüttenbachweg” trail (marked no. 15A), leading through woods and meadows, over stiles and fences, to the Waldbichl Hotel and Restaurant. Retrace your steps for the return journey.

Wurzer Alm mountain hut

Starting from Hafling, the trail follows marker no. 2A towards the Wurzer Alm mountain hut before continuing on trail no. 16A. The hike passes through meadows and forested areas, eventually reaching the Bruggen Weiher pond and finally arriving at the Waldbichl Hotel and Restaurant. The terrain is varied, with plenty of spots to rest, play and enjoy nature along the way.
