More information Opening hours“Gut am Pach”, the site that later became the Jochele, has been hosting weddings and celebrations since the Middle Ages. Today, the hotel and restaurant is managed by the Hainz family and remains a beloved gathering spot in the heart of Pfalzen. The atmosphere is relaxed, and some old traditions are still going strong: regulars often meet for card games and after Sunday mass, and locals gather at the bar to socialise. Here, guests at the hotel and restaurant enjoy meals side by side, creating a warm, communal dining experience. The Jochele strikes a perfect balance between modern comfort and historical charm, its menu filled with South Tyrolean specialities and international dishes. Signature items include “Schlutzkrapfen” pasta, various dumplings and herb dumplings, “Kaiserschmarrn” torn pancakes and “Tafelspitz” boiled veal.
The host family
The Hainz family has been at the helm of the Jochele since Paul and Christine took over in 1986. A few years ago, after a complete renovation, they passed the torch to their son Michael, who now runs the hotel and restaurant alongside his sister Miriam. Together, they bring their own modern interpretation to the beloved South Tyrolean restaurant culture.
