Originally a hostel for pilgrims, the house was first mentioned in a Papal document dating from 1184. The Kofler Mocatti family runs the restaurant in third generation. The principle of Slow Food, the wisdom of Hildegard of Bingen and the knowledge of wild herbs from herbal priest Weidinger are the pillars of the Cervo cuisine.
