Ingredients for Serves
Shortcrust pastry dough
- 200 g sugar
- 250 g butter
- 500 g flour
- 2 eggs
- ½ sachet baking powder
- ½ sachet vanilla sugar
Apple filling
- 4 South Tyrolean apples
- ½ lemon, juiced
- 1 lemon, zest grated
- 100 ml rum
- 50 g breadcrumbs
- 20 g sultanas
- 10 g pine nuts
- ½ tsp cinnamon
- 60 g sugar
Additional ingredients
- 1 egg
- Icing sugar
Step 1: Knead all the ingredients for the pastry into a smooth dough. Peel the apples, cut into thin slices and mix with the other filling ingredients.
Step 2: Roll out the pastry, spread the apple filling evenly on top and fold the pastry over it. Brush with egg and bake in a preheated oven at 170°C for approx. 25-30 minutes.
Step 3: Dust with icing sugar before serving.
