Harvest celebration at the Südtiroler Gasthaus restaurants

“Not just bird food – Enjoyment with seeds, kernels & nuts” is the motto of the South Tyrolean inns during the gastronomic “Harvest Festival” weeks. The focus is on creative and special culinary creations that highlight the taste and diversity of autumn ingredients.

All Gasthäuser

Autumn brings a rich abundance of local products that inspire our hosts and hostesses to create creative and flavorful dishes. During this season, they invite you to a special gastronomic "Harvest Festival," which this year puts seeds, nuts, and kernels at the center. These valuable ingredients are transformed with care and creativity into unique compositions. Whether as the main feature on the plate or as a refined side dish – at the "Harvest Festival," we celebrate the diversity and flavor of autumnal nature in all its facets.

The Harvest Festival likely traces back to Roman traditions and has been celebrated since the 3rd century AD. Depending on the climate zone, the harvest was gathered at different times, which is why there is no fixed date. In the Catholic Church, the Harvest Festival usually falls on the first Sunday of October.

South Tyrolean inns invite you to celebrate the "Harvest Festival" from September until early November – a wonderful opportunity to enjoy the pleasures of autumn.

By the way: Among the autumn delights of the Harvest Festival, we recommend our inn’s own wine “insriGer.” A true must!
